Clicking...

You know that feeling you get when things start coming together and "clicking" and making sense and you start getting the hang of it all?

We're clicking now. We're getting the hang of it all. It's all coming together and making sense! Minus the language aspect, which hopefully we'll have mastered in, oh, about 27 years.

I mean, we've been here a month now, so it would make sense that I've finally figured out how to work my oven, right?
And I'm not at all ashamed to admit that one of the first things I baked was my mom's recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls. Even with wonky yeast and inadequate rising times, Pillsbury got nothing on these babies...

Brandon is glad that the putting-together-all-of-our-furniture aspect of moving is over. (mostly) I'm going to out him and say that he even slapped down some cash to buy an electric drill just for putting together our IKEA furniture. But when said drill costs a mere $9 here in the Big Chicken, it's very much worth it.

The kids are still troopers. With our big box of stuff still yet to arrive, which has most of their favorite toys from the States, they've been resorting to other means of entertainment.

I'm wondering how much longer the fascination with our front loader washer will last? I'm milking it for all it's worth. Bored kids? Start some laundry!! Brights are Eden's favorite. Swirling purple and pink in a sea of soapy water...the kid is in awe.

We inherited some treasured from-the-States Crayola finger paints....so, we painted rocks.

So after a month of having played with the same small toys that we barely had room for in our suitcases, Brandon and I broke down and decided we'd find some new toys for both of them. Eden got a new bike, with Mermaid Ariel's face prominently displayed, much to her delight!
And Salem got an inside riding toy, and a set of tools with welding goggles and all.

So, we're figuring things out. Slowly but surely, it's all coming together. We have couches. We've found the right type of milk to buy. We know which bus to take to Chinese-Wal-Mart. We can order drinking water and have it delivered to our front door.

Soon enough we'll have our big box of stuff hopefully. Soon enough we'll have gas so we can use our stove top.

We're functioning! And enjoying our functional status!

Hey, Sharon told me to check out your blog. I live in Bangkok, so I will get to meet you in a few months!
Glad to see you are getting settled in. Our front loader also provides a lot of entertainment, especially when it has bubbles!

Niiiiiice! Going down for a few days earlier in the month was so when our move finally came "functioning" would happen faster. I still haven't ordered an oven/stove yet, but that will happen soon. Though my microwave should be arriving in our storage stuff (though it's oddly, not on the packing list from the storage company...miiiight be investing in another of those) ...anyway. Totally get you. So glad bus has been figured out. Also I'm really starting to think more and more that Isaac-Eden will have to happen someday. Does she explain to you that they're swirling around? Because Isaac would as he sat there and stared.
Also. Salem looks way too big in the finger-painting pic. I know he's almost 2 and all but still, I haven't met him yet and I'm just not a fan of him looking big-boyish.
Yay Brandon and IKEA and April and cinnamon rolls (send me recipe). You know life can continue and WILL continue when couches are waiting for you to sit on them and saturday morning tastes like home is supposed to taste!

SO fun to see all the pictures! I seriously can't believe how many clothes Avery and Eden have that are the same! It is CRAZY! The dress she is wearing while watching the washing machine...yep, Avery has the same one! :) Love you xoxo
