I'm a Baptist

so that means that we don't really do "confessions."

But I figure a blog of confessions could be fun.
Daring!
(maybe I have a guilty conscience?)
But on one condition. You must. MUST! leave comments.
Because I don't really want to be the only confessionee. Confessioner? Confessionist?
Anyway.

1. Sometimes when Eden does her non-stop question asking in the car, (What's that horse's name? Whose that man in the black car? Where's he going? Why is the water tower blue?) I say, "Hey! Let's listen to music!" And crank up the tunes real loud and make her sing along. Occasionally, it's just easier.

2. Spelling mistakes tend to irritate the living daylights out of me. (and now you're all going to go and run spellcheck on my blog, right?) If I find one on a blog post of mine, I can not go on with life until I've edited it. If I find one on a blog post of yours, I may never return to your blog. (ok. a little exaggeration.)

3. My husband deserves someone WAY better than me. I love that man!

4. Once or twice a week I feed my children cold tofu for lunch while I fix myself a yummy bagel sandwich. In my defense, they both really like tofu and WON'T eat a bagel sandwich.

5. I secretly like the feeling of buying tofu. In my head I just know the cashier is thinking, "This mom is SUPER healthy, grows her own vegetables, and recycles everything she owns." (because that's what crunchy/hippy people do. eat tofu and recycle.)  And then I stop by the Donut Stop on the way home.

6. Brandon likes to share meals when we eat out. It's cheaper and it's a good way for us to not over eat. But in reality I could easily put away the Steak and Enchilada plate all by myself.

7. I don't understand twitter. I'm tweetarded apparently. And it bugs me when people talk about tweeting.

8. The only book that I read in its entirety in high school was The Catcher in the Rye. I avoided To Kill a Mockingbird like the plague, but oh yes, the book about the deranged and foul-mouthed boy, I'll stay up until 4 a.m. to finish.

9. I horrifically and most adamantly hate the word "panties." (just trying to make you all really uncomfortable in today's blog) I get all oogly googly just typing it out loud. In our house, we call them "chonies." Not sure where that even started. But I'm 97% positive that if Eden heard you say the 'p' word, she wouldn't have a clue what you are talking about. And I'm 100% positive that you if you said the 'p' word in our house, you'd get a kick in the shins.

10. I incredibly dislike crowds. Big event type things are tooooootally not my thing. Oh but wait. Where are we moving again? That's right. To the most populated country in the world. Real funny, God. Real funny.

11. I've taught Eden how to "properly" hold her baby to "nurse" her. I mean, if she's going to pretend, then she might as well do it the right way! :)

12. I cried during Toy Story 3. A movie with a talking Mr. Potato Head. Me = blubbering idiot.

13. Today I had cool whip with a little bit of fruit for breakfast.

Rounding it out at a baker's dozen.
Your turn.

my confession is that I have TERRIBLE taste in music. I drove 9 hours by myself yesterday and some music I chose to put in was:
old school snoop dog
brittany spears (the first CD)
newies, the musical soundtrack

yikes.

Confession:

While at a conference of angry English teachers, I got tickled at misunderstanding what an "Anchor Board" was. I thought the instructor said "Anger Board".

I entertained myself throughout the duration of the workshop envisioning an anger board where students could throw darts with their hate filled messages. I also envisioned myself at the desk foaming at the mouth insanely.

It seemed logical. Anger board. Foaming mouthed teacher.

That'll keep 'em in line.

One last confession for good measure:

I always... ALWAYS want the icing. Cake? Icing?

Icing! The answer is ALWAYS icing.

I cried during Toy Story 3 as well.

I call my husband Chonies. Haha! I'm pretty sure that began in one of Josue's Spanish classes at WBU.

I have been thinking about pet peeves today...this is MY BIGGEST ONE...

People who don't read information. You take the time to write it out for them, and they don't have the tenacity to stop, read, and answer the dumb question that's about to come out of their mouth.

End rant. This was a great post.

May I suggest a cloth diaper FAQ post sometime? I just want to hear from a real-life person what it's been like. Using the cloth diapers is actually one of the things I'm most excited about- weird, I know.

I don't understand Twitter either; had an account, cancelled it.

I hate spelling errors too, especially things like "their, they're and there."

I let my son watch more TV than I think is good for him just so I can have a break and cook dinner.

Oh yeah, and about #10...I call those "forced socialization" events. HATE THEM! Anytime where I am 'required' to hang around an event with lots of people that I don't really know, and forced to make small talk something inside me dies a little.

The thing in the car with the questions and the music...yeah, that's me too...except all the time, not just in the car...and sometimes instead of having Avery sing, I hand her my iphone to look at pictures and play games just for a few seconds of silence.

Another confession..I let Cayden play Super Mario all day long yesterday...yep. Not most of the day...ALL DAY! While I took pain medicine and laid in bed.

Also, I really think chicken nuggets and french fries is a great meal for kids....It has to be good for them because of how much they love it, right?

Confession:

I sometimes think that when I'm in my car singing, there's a hidden camera somewhere and I'm going to end up on a reality show where they make fun of me.

Similarly related to the above: When I was little, I had a suspicion that my life was similar to something like The Truman Show. And I was Truman...

(Yep... I am and always will be a little bit crazy.)

I sometimes make cookies as an excuse to have spoonfuls of cookie dough to eat before it all goes in the oven for the rest of the people who didn't take the time to make the cookie dough.

I just celebrated my 4 month anniversary with Twitter and I love it. Although, mine is for networking with good teachers around the world. Follow me @zgporter.

1. I always wondered where you got the word "chonies."
2. I teared up at the end of Toy Story 3 also.
3. Yesterday at the airport, at a Starbucks kiosk (sp?) I ordered a mocha latte w/ skim milk; when asked if I wanted whipped cream, I answered yes. Is that a little like drinking a diet Coke while eating a Snickers bar?
